AI agent drift
A change in an AI agent's tools, permissions, or instructions after it was approved.
Agent drift is the gap between the agent an organization approved and the agent running today. It takes two forms: permission drift, where the agent gains access to tools or data outside its approved scope, and prompt drift, where its system instructions change. A vendor update or a configuration change is enough, with no new release.
